Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are used to help diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face.

As we age, our faces naturally lose some fat from under the skin, especially in the middle of our faces. This fat provides the underlying structure and plumpness we see in our youth. The facial muscles then are closer to the skin surface, making those smile/frown lines and crow's feet more apparent. Over time, the facial skin also stretches a bit due to loss of collagen and elastin, adding to this decrease in facial volume. Many important factors in our history can also affect the facial skin such as sun exposure, smoking, heredity and lifestyle.
